“Pain and suffering have come into your life, but remember pain, sorrow, suffering are but the kiss of Jesus – a sign that you have come so close to Him that He can kiss you” (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta).
You can ask for anointing of the sick whenever you are in need of strengthening, but especially when:
- Undergoing surgery
- Struggling with chronic or serious illness
- Coping with mental illness
- Growing older and feeling weaker even though no illness is present
- During the course of recovery if the condition changes
If you are a member of St. Patrick Parish and are seriously ill or scheduled for surgery, contact Fr. David Trask at 440.987.9873.
For those in the hospital, have your nurse contact the Catholic hospital chaplain.
At St. Patrick Parish, we celebrate a communal Anointing of the Sick on an annual basis during the Easter Season.
